Symons, Teeling named BCPL Coaches of the Month for May

Altitude FC (women) and TSS Rovers (men) were dominant over the last month.

The British Columbia Premier League announced Friday that Altitude FC’s Jesse Symons and TSS Rovers’ Brendan Teeling have been named the Coaches of the Month for the BCPL Women’s and Men’s divisions, respectively.

Symons guided Altitude to a 5-0-1 record in May, helping them climb to second in the BCPL Women’s table. They collected some huge wins along the way, including an 8-2 rout of Burnaby FC, a 5-2 win over TSS Rovers and a 6-3 triumph against Nanaimo United.

Altitude are the highest-scoring team in the BCPL, with 34 total goals scored. Two of the league’s top three scorers play for them, in Ella Santarsieri (six goals) and Chloe Van Schalkwyk (five).

Symons is in his second year as Altitude’s head coach after spending the prior two years in charge of Varsity FC and Nautsa’mawt FC. In 2025, he led them to a championship, and is aiming to repeat the achievement in 2026.

Meanwhile, Rovers stalwart Brendan Teeling has his side rolling along in the men’s division. They played four games in May and won all of them, including two clean-sheet wins over Kamloops United.

TSS Rovers outscored opponents 12-3 in May, and now sit in second place with a 7-1-1 overall record.

Teeling, in his third year in charge of TSS Rovers’ men’s program, is aiming to bring silverware back to the club, after winning the league in 2024.
