The British Columbia Premier League announced its Coaches of the Month for June 2026 this week, with Vancouver Rise FC Academy interim head coach Esteban Mora and Langley United’s Azad Palani earning the honours in the women’s and men’s divisions, respectively.

Mora guided Vancouver Rise FC Academy to the 2026 BCPL Women’s championship, as the club secured the league title with one regular season match remaining following a 2-0 victory over TSS Rovers FC.

After narrowly missing out on the championship in 2025, Rise returned this season determined to go one step further. Under Mora’s leadership, the club combined one of the league’s most dangerous attacks with one of its strongest defensive records, consistently finding ways to earn results throughout another tightly contested title race with Altitude FC.

The championship marks Vancouver Rise Academy’s first since the BCPL rebrand and another milestone for a program that continues to develop some of British Columbia’s brightest young talent.

Meanwhile, Palani has added another remarkable achievement to Langley United’s growing list of accomplishments.

After also earning Coach of the Month honours in April, Palani guided Langley to the 2026 BCPL men’s championship, making club history with a second consecutive league title. The triumph made Langley the first men’s side to win back-to-back BCPL championships, clinching first place with one match still remaining in the regular season.

The title caps another outstanding campaign for Palani, who has overseen one of the BCPL’s premier clubs. Under his leadership, Langley has captured the men’s championship in each of its first two seasons in the league while also representing the BCPL in the 2026 TELUS Canadian Championship.

As Langley celebrated its centennial year, Palani once again helped deliver a season that will be remembered as another landmark chapter in the club’s history.
