The BCPL women’s season continued to showcase the depth of talent emerging across the province throughout May.
From prolific goalscorers helping drive title challenges to young players taking important steps in their development, standout performances could be found across the league. These three players made a particularly strong impact during the month, helping their clubs earn valuable results while continuing to build impressive seasons of their own.
Julie Dirom – Burnaby FC
As Burnaby FC began to find its footing, Julie Dirom remained a reliable presence throughout the lineup.
The 18-year-old played significant minutes during a stretch that saw Burnaby earn three victories and begin building momentum after a challenging start to the season. Dirom’s consistency and reliability helped provide an important foundation as the club worked its way back into form.
Her performances throughout May reflected the value of players who contribute in every phase of the game, helping Burnaby put together one of its strongest stretches of the season.
Ella Santarsieri – Altitude FC
Altitude FC’s push near the top of the table was fueled in part by another strong month from Ella Santarsieri.
The 18-year-old midfielder scored four goals during May, bringing her season total to six while helping Altitude remain firmly among the league’s top teams. Like many of the BCPL’s emerging young talents, Santarsieri consistently made an impact despite not always playing full matches, making her offensive production all the more impressive.
Already earning Team of the Week recognition this season, she has provided quality in attacking areas while helping Altitude compile an impressive record through the opening months of the campaign. Her performances throughout May were an important factor in keeping the club within striking distance of first place.
Brooklyn Boldt – Vancouver Rise FC Academy
Few players across the BCPL enjoyed a month quite like Brooklyn Boldt.
At just 17 years old, the Vancouver Rise FC Academy forward scored 10 goals during May, including multiple hat tricks, while helping Rise maintain its perfect start to the season. Despite not always playing full matches, Boldt consistently found ways to make a decisive impact in front of goal, showcasing the finishing ability that has quickly made her one of the league’s most exciting young talents.
Earlier this year, Boldt received her first call-up to Canada’s Women’s Under-17 National Team program and recently committed to play collegiately at the University of Wisconsin. A two-time Team of the Week selection this season, she has played a major role in Rise’s undefeated campaign as the club continues to set the pace atop the BCPL standings.
May offered another reminder of the depth of talent competing throughout the BCPL women’s division. Whether taking major steps forward in their development or helping lead their clubs through important stretches of the season, Dirom, Santarsieri and Boldt each delivered standout performances that helped shape the month across the league.
