As clubs settled into the rhythm of the 2026 British Columbia Premier League season, several players continued to separate themselves through consistent performances and timely contributions.
From clinical finishing in front of goal to leadership at the back and influence in key victories, players across the league helped drive their clubs forward during an important month in the standings. These three players stood out throughout May, earning recognition for both their individual performances and the impact they had on their teams.
Brody Thomas – Langley United
Langley United’s place atop the BCPL standings has been built on contributions throughout the squad, and Brody Thomas has been a key part of that success.
The 25-year-old defender earned Team of the Week recognition twice during the opening months of the season while helping guide Langley to eight victories in its first nine matches. While his primary responsibilities come on the defensive side of the ball, Thomas has also contributed offensively, scoring in all but one of his appearances this season.
His ability to impact matches at both ends of the pitch has made him an important figure for a Langley side that continues to set the pace in the BCPL men’s division.
Chris Album – Whitecaps FC Academy
Few players have been as reliable in front of goal this season as Chris Album.
At 23 years old, Album continued his impressive run of form throughout May, adding four goals to bring his season total to eight. Remarkably, Album has found the scoresheet in every BCPL match he has played this year, helping Whitecaps FC Academy remain firmly among the league’s top teams.
A two-time Team of the Week selection already this season, Album has consistently provided an attacking spark through his movement, finishing ability and efficiency in front of goal. Even without regularly playing a full 90 minutes, he has continued to make the most of his opportunities and establish himself as one of the league’s most dangerous forwards.
Michael Hennessy – TSS Rovers
Michael Hennessy, 21, made the most of his opportunities throughout May, helping TSS Rovers maintain pressure near the top of the standings.
Hennessy scored three goals during the month and has been part of four victories in four appearances this season. A product of the Whitecaps FC Academy pathway who also competed for Simon Fraser University, Hennessy has brought both quality and composure into the Rovers attack.
His performances helped TSS continue its strong run of results throughout May, while further establishing himself as an important contributor within one of the league’s top-performing sides.
May featured no shortage of standout performances across the BCPL men’s division, but few players were as influential to their clubs’ success as Thomas, Album and Hennessy. Whether finding the back of the net, leading from the back or helping drive winning results, all three played a significant role in shaping the month.
