Langley United are on the brink of a second straight British Columbia Premier League men’s championship, as they could clinch the 2026 title with a win on Saturday evening.

After TSS Rovers’ 4-1 loss to Vancouver Whitecaps Academy on Thursday, Langley would win the league if they beat Nanaimo United at Q’unq’inuqwstuxw Field on Saturday.

No men’s side has ever won back-to-back championships in the BCPL, so Langley are aiming to make history in just their second year competing in the league.

Entering this penultimate matchweek of the 2026 season, Rovers and Langley were tied atop the BCPL men’s standings, with 29 points each through 12 games. Rovers lost their 13th match, meaning their maximum possible point total is now 32, which Langley could get to if they win match 13 this week.

In the BCPL, head-to-head is the key tiebreaker, and Langley have the edge over TSS Rovers in that respect. Langley won 1-0 in their meeting at Swangard Stadium back in April, and the sides drew 2-2 in early June.

Langley are looking to clinch a second straight men’s championship, after narrowly edging TSS Rovers for the title in 2025 as well. Last time, Langley topped the table when a 95th-minute penalty snatched one final victory with the last kick of the season.

They would certainly like to wrap up the 2026 title a week early, with one final home match to come at the Langley Events Centre next Sunday, July 5.

After competing in the 2026 TELUS Canadian Championship, Langley United are keen to book their ticket to the competition for a second straight year, which they would accomplish by winning the league once again.
