APPLICATION DEADLINE APPROACHING: BECOME A 2026 MDOC

Applications to become a Match Day Operations Coordinator (MDOC) with the British Columbia Premier League (BCPL) close Friday, March 6.
If you’re passionate about soccer and interested in gaining hands-on experience in events management and sports media, this is your reminder to apply before the deadline.
MDOCs play a critical role in delivering a high standard of match day across all BCPL fixtures. From implementing league standards and supporting teams and officials, to providing live match updates through the website, mobile app and social media platforms, MDOCs help ensure every match day runs professionally and efficiently.
BCPL MDOC Manager Felix Chau said the program is designed to elevate the overall match day experience across the province.
“Through the MDOC program, we are looking to achieve a high standard of match day for all BCPL matches,” said Chau. “This means implementing the league’s match-day standards approach to deliver a high-quality event for players, team officials, match officials and spectators. MDOCs also play a vital role in providing live updates from matches to ensure timely information is delivered to fans.”
The league is seeking personable, self-motivated candidates with a passion for the game and an interest in event management. Chau described the role as a true stepping stone into the sports industry, whether for new graduates or those simply looking to become more involved in soccer.
“This is an opportunity to experience working on the operations side of the BCPL, to network at the field and to observe how players, team officials and match officials operate in a semi-professional environment,” said Chau.
Chau added that the program is focused on developing future leaders — individuals who can become experts on game day standards and eventually take their expertise to clubs and leagues across Canada or around the world. He emphasized that while the league is committed to showcasing and elevating players, coaches and referees, it also provides meaningful opportunities on the operations side, allowing MDOCs to gain valuable experience and make an impact on the Canadian soccer landscape.
The MDOC role is part-time, with training provided ahead of the 2026 season.
Applications close Friday, March 6, 2026.
