BCPL alumni Hunter and Regan named to Canada roster for Denmark series
Duo among eight Canada selections with connections to the PSLC pathway
Two BCPL alumni are headed to the Canadian Women’s National Team.
Kaylee Hunter and Emma Regan have been named to Canada’s 24-player roster for a pair of home matches against Denmark in October, joining a group that features eight players with connections to the Premier Soccer Leagues Canada pathway.
Hunter spent the 2023 and 2024 seasons with Vancouver Whitecaps FC Girls Elite, helping the club capture back-to-back Women’s Inter-Provincial Championship titles. She was named tournament MVP in 2024 after scoring twice in the final.
The 18-year-old earns the senior national team call-up following a standout showing for Canada at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland. Hunter led Canada with four goals at the tournament, including a hat trick in a 3-1 Round of 16 victory over France.
Before her time in the BCPL, Hunter also competed with Calgary Blizzard SC in Alberta, giving her connections to both the Alberta and British Columbia branches of the PSLC pathway.
Regan’s ties to the B.C. pathway stretch back to 2018, when she suited up for TSS FC Rovers. She later returned to the domestic game with Varsity FC in 2022, during the inaugural season of what is now the BCPL.
The Burnaby, B.C. product has since gone on to play professionally in Denmark and Canada and now competes for Denver Summit FC.
Across Canada’s latest roster, Gabrielle Carle, Melissa Dagenais, Vanessa Gilles, Hunter, Regan, Jade Rose, Olivia Smith and Evelyne Viens have all previously competed within leagues connected to the pathway now represented by PSLC.
Two additional members of the roster also made brief appearances within the pathway. Kadeisha Buchanan made one appearance for Vaughan Azzurri in Ontario in 2016 as she prepared for the Rio Olympic Games, while goalkeeper Lysianne Proulx made four appearances in Québec.
Collectively, their experience stretches across British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario and Québec, including leagues that formed the former League1 Canada alliance before it was rebranded as Premier Soccer Leagues Canada in early 2026.
Canada will face Denmark on Friday, Oct. 9 at Stade Saputo in Montréal before closing out the window on Monday, Oct. 12 at BMO Field in Toronto.
