Eight Current and Former BCPL Players Selected to Canada’s FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Roster

British Columbia connections form part of a 16-player PSLC contingent represented on Canada’s 21-player squad for Poland 2026

The Premier Soccer Leagues Canada pathway will be well represented on the international stage this September, with 16 of the 21 players named to Canada’s FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Poland 2026™ roster having connections to the domestic pathway.

Half of that group has ties to the British Columbia pathway, with eight players selected to Canada’s roster having developed or competed with clubs and programs now connected to the British Columbia Premier League.

Among the most recent BCPL players selected are Iba Oching and Emma Yee, who both competed in the league during the 2026 season.

Oching joined Altitude FC in 2026 after spending the previous season with Evolution FC, while Yee has represented Altitude across the 2025 and 2026 campaigns. Both previously spent time with the Whitecaps Girls Elite program.

Sienna Gibson also featured for Altitude FC in 2025 before continuing her development with Vancouver Rise FC Academy, where she has spent the past two seasons.

Current Vancouver Rise FC players Bridget Mutipula and Chloe Taylor each came through the Whitecaps Girls Elite program before continuing with the Rise Academy. Both are now signed to youth permits with Vancouver Rise FC.

Three additional members of the Canadian squad have connections to the province’s pathway. Jeneva Hernandez Gray, now with Sporting CP in Portugal, spent three years with Whitecaps Girls Elite from 2022 to 2024. Noelle Sather went from Whitecaps Girls Elite to Evolution FC in 2025, while current AFC Toronto forward Kaylee Hunter also previously developed with Whitecaps Girls Elite.

The eight B.C.-connected players join seven with ties to the Ontario Premier League and Alberta Premier League forward Sariyah Bailey among the 16 players with PSLC connections selected to represent Canada in Poland.

Canada enters Poland 2026 as reigning Concacaf Women’s U-20 champions after capturing the 2025 regional title with an extra-time victory over Mexico in the Final.

Drawn into Group B, Canada will open against England on Sept. 5 at 9 a.m. PT before facing Brazil on Sept. 8 at 6 a.m. PT and Tanzania on Sept. 11 at 6 a.m. PT. All three matches will take place at Stadion Miejski in Bielsko-Biała.

Poland 2026 will mark Canada’s 10th appearance at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup. Canada most recently reached the Round of 16 at Colombia 2024.
